David brings to Oliver over 15 years of experience working in the field of educational access for high-achieving students. He previously served as Director of Education at NJ SEEDS, where he oversaw programs serving 750 students. He is the author of four books and dozens of articles and has taught at Princeton University and has served as a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University. David holds a B.A. from Brown University and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. His daughter Jordan is a graduate of Packer Collegiate. He has spoken at many national conferences, including the annual meeting of The College Board Forum, The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS), The National Partnership for Educational Access (NPEA), and the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC). He serves on the board of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and is currently a visiting scholar at The New School. Oliver Scholars prepares high-achieving African-American and Latino students from underserved NYC communities for success at top independent schools and prestigious colleges.

Colin Hogan is Head of School at Learning Community Charter School.  From 2010-2013 he was the Social Studies Coordinator for the Highland Park School District.  He taught 6th grade history in Highland Park from 2004-2010.  Prior to coming to Highland Park Mr. Hogan taught at Princeton Charter School.  Mr. Hogan began his career in education in 1999 teaching at the Academy of Communications and Technology and at the Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School in Chicago.  He has won numerous awards for teaching and was recognized as New Jersey History Teacher of the Year in 2013.  Before becoming a teacher he worked as a community organizer in both Israel and New York City.  Mr. Hogan earned his Bachelor of Arts in History at Indiana University, pursued graduate studies in Early Adolescent Education at Bank Street College of Education, and at the NJExcel program.  Mr. Hogan currently serves as President of the Kean University Diversity Council the state's premier prejudice reduction and Holocaust education consortium for NJ schools.

Kyle Borel is the principal at a charter school in Austin, Texas. Her school currently serves 600 students in grades PreK-8. Kyle received her bachelors degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson (go Wildcats!) then her Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Tyler. She started out her career in education as a 4-5th grade science teacher, then spent two years as an assistant principal before moving into the role of campus principal. She's currently in her 5th year as a campus principal. Her favorite part of her job is greeting her students as they arrive to school each day and spending time in classrooms.

David is in his third year as a middle school assistant principal for the Solanco School District just outside Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  He is currently part of the PA ASCD emerging leaders program. Prior to his current position, he taught middle school physical education and coached in Maryland.  He and his wife, Amy, have twin boys that will soon be 5 and a little girl that just turned 3.
